چکیده

Introduction: Fetal heart rate and its variability during the course of gestation have been extensively researched. The overall reduction in heart rate and increase in fetal HRV is associated with fetal growth and the increase in neural integration. The increased complexity of the demands on the cardiovascular system leads to more variation in the temporal course of the heart rate which has been shown to be refl ected in measures of complexity. The aim of this work was to investigate novel complexity measures with respect to their ability to quantify changes over gestational age in individual fetuses consistently and in a stable manner.

I-42: Advanced Ultrasonic Techniques in The Assessment of Early Human Development

Background: To evaluate the role of 3D, 4D and color Doppler ultrasound (US) in the assessment of early human development. Materials and Methods: 380 women with uncomplicated early pregnancy between 5 and 14 weeks were evaluated by 3D, 4D and color Doppler US. Results: Regression analysis revealed exponential rise of the gestational sac volume with gestational age throughout the first trimester...

The influence of physical activity during pregnancy on maternal, fetal or infant heart rate variability: a systematic review

BACKGROUND Physical activity (PA) during pregnancy has been shown to be associated with several positive effects for mother, fetus, and offspring. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a noninvasive and surrogate marker to determine fetal overall health and the development of fetal autonomic nervous system. In addition, it has been shown to be significantly influenced by maternal behavior. However, t...

The Effects of Heart Rate Variability on Reading Performance among Iranian EFL Learners

Psychophysiological studies and MRI neuro-imaging findings provide evidence that heart rate variability (HRV) which is in control of our emotions affects our brain cognitive centers. It has been shown that coherent heart-brain interaction can change the pattern of the afferent cardiac input that is sent to the brain. For this purpose, the Institute of HeartMath (IHM) has proposed a kind of biof...

The Assessment of Applying Chaos Theory for Daily Traffic Estimation

Road traffic volumes in intercity roads are generally estimated by probability functions, statistical techniques or meta-heuristic approaches such as artificial neural networks. As the road traffic volumes depend on input variables and mainly road geometrical design, weather conditions, day or night time, weekend or national holidays and so on, these are also estimated by pattern recognition te...

Global Finite Time Synchronization of Two Nonlinear Chaotic Gyros Using High Order Sliding Mode Control

In this paper, under the existence of system uncertainties, external disturbances, and input nonlinearity, global finite time synchronization between two identical attractors which belong to a class of second-order chaotic nonlinear gyros are achieved by considering a method of continuous smooth second-order sliding mode control (HOAMSC). It is proved that the proposed controller is robust to m...
